A clear and easy-to-use trading platform ensures that you get the latest transaction information.

Brief

Overview

It's a redesign plan of transaction features to solve problems encountered while trading. I did user research, competitor research, and restructured the information to come out with the ideas.

Empathize

Target user:

Users of the product. Users can deposit fiat or crypto currency into wallet, transfer money between wallets, and withdraw money out from wallet to fiat or crypto currency.

User interview topics:

We interviewed the product’s CS (customer service) team to know the feedback from members and interview the BI (business intelligence) team to understand the deposit procedure.

  1. What issues do members usually complain about the deposit flow? Which of these occur more often?
  2. Which deposit methods members use more often? What methods does the BI team encourage?
  3. What do users care when deposit?
  4. What does BI team usually do to encourage users to deposit more?

Other qualitative & quantitative data:

According to the analytics reports from UXCam and Piwik, we can understand user’s deposit behavior.

Define Problems

Unclear information leads to failing in deposit or losing money.

  1. Lack of deposit tutorial.
  2. Unclear deposit precautions: information is hidden or displayed on different section of the page.
  3. Place system announcement in popup dialog which makes members ignore important message.

Going through many fields every time while making a deposit, that slows down the deposit process.

  1. It’s hard for users to scroll to choose a deposit method among all of the choices. 
  2. Usually users use certain deposit method but they still need to fill in same information while depositing which slow down the process.
  3. Bonus application can be a plus but not a distraction in deposit process.
  4. Lack of basis for users to verify which wallet to deposit money.

Difficult to find the transaction records.

  1. Transaction-related features are placed in different areas of the app which is not intuitive enough for members to know related information.

Redesign Goals


Restructure transaction related IA (information architecture)

  1. “Wallet” page to gather all the transaction and wallet information including fast deposit, transfer, withdraw, and latest transaction history.

Simplify the deposit procedure

  1. Separate fiat and crypto deposit method.
  2. Setup frequent use deposit method.
  3. Provide system recommended deposit amount.
  4. Import frequently used deposit information.
  5. Show the most popular bonus application.

Clear deposit rules

  1. A section for all the precautions.
  2. Build up tutorial center.
  3. Highlight the recommended deposit method.

Wireframe

Wallet Overview Page

  1. Show the latest transaction status on the overview page that users can know where their money goes.
  2. Before expanding the wallet drawer, show the balance of main wallet and a preferred wallet. After expanding the drawer, separate the main wallet with other wallets.
  3. Highlight the deposit button among the three.


Deposit Page

  1. Customize the order of deposit method’s icon that the most frequent-use methods can be shown on top.
  2. Attract users by showing the max rebate on bonus application section. Making sure it's subtle for those who aren’t interested in.
  3. Less effort to deposit: amount recommendation, fill in frequently used deposit information.
  4. Highlight the important information in different color in precaution like transaction fee or crypto deposit network.
  5. Build up tutorial center for each deposit method.
